AAA Cards challenge time

Sunday means AAA Cards challenge time.
And, yeah, it is watercolor play time again.
And, I picked a technique that is super simple and fast.  I love how clean and simple the result is. The great sentiment is from My Favorite Things Stamps.
The three leaves are a stamp from Hero Arts.  I simply stamped them with white ink and embossed them with white embossing powder on the watercolor paper.  Next, I took some Distress Stains and dabbed on the ink, letting a spritz of water make the inks run.  I then walked away while I let this dry.  I finished off this piece with a few dots of Liquid Pearls.

It's AAA Card Challenge time

It's Sunday and it's time for a new AAA Cards challenge.
This week just happens to include one of my favorite techniques - Stencils.
I pulled out one of my favorite stencils from The Crafters Workshop.  I simply used black embossing paste on a piece of black cardstock.  I love the matte finish to this embossing paste and the slight texture.
For a simple accent, I used some of my favorite flower stamps to create these three awesome flowers.  The set is from Altenew Stamps.  This set is so much fun to use.  The flowers are stamped in layers and just about any color works.  You don't even have to use all three layers.  I stamp the black outline layer last.  The word strip is from another set of stamps.  I love that these look like tape.
Here is a different view of the black on black embossing paste.  It was a little bit hard to photograph so the details showed.
And for a photo...

Is this CUTE!!!! We stopped in the tiny town of Harmony and this was set up for photo ops when they host events. When I walked up to it, I thought it was so fun that the cows on the hill were in just the right spot.

AAA Challenge - Inspiration

For this weeks challenge at AAA Cards, we are working with a card created by one of the team members.

Here is Jane's card.
I love her card and found it so easy to be inspired by it.  I pulled out some of my Hero Arts stamps for my creation.
I love this ornate frame, it just seems to go with so many different themes and colors.  I colored mine a soft gray and gave it an accent of yellow flowers.  That background is stamped using a newsprint stamp.  I find it fun to create my own backgrounds when I can.

Thinking of Cupcakes!

Because I mostly do think of cupcakes, a card to go along.
I wanted to use the CAS(e) this sketch for this week and since it also included using tags I knew these stamps from Printworks were the great starting off point.  The background is totally a messy background. I used inks, sprays and then a stencil over that.
I punched out the tags using a punch from McGill. I stamped these adorable stamps on each one and colored the cupcake with Copic Markers.

Here is the CAS(e) this sketch.

Another fun Colour Q combo

I love playing with color combination challenges and so it was fun to take some time to work with the current Colour Q combo.

From my playing around stash, I found this background I had created some time ago. The perfect color to set the stage for my card.  I was playing with a numbers stencil.  I had ink on the stencil and just blotted that ink off on my piece of blank paper.
I went to my yummy Wplus9 Designs flower and leaf set of stamps.  I love that they come with matching dies making cutting out so easy.  I inked the flowers and the leaves with Distress Stamp pads.  That great wood word is from my Freckled Fawn kit as are those adorable little blue stars.

Here is the Colour Q combo.

AAA Cards challenge - Summer Foods

Time for another AAA Cards challenge.
The challenge is to use the theme of Summer Foods.
I picked pineapples! I love pineapples so this was an easy choice. The sentiment is from Reverse Confetti and the stencil for the background is from My Favorite Things.
The pineapple stamp is from Art Impressions.  I added ink with some mini Distress Stamp pads.  I tried to show in this photo that I added Glossy Accents to the leaves.
I took this photo at an angle so the embossing paste would stand out.  I added the yellow color with a stamp pad and the stencil.  I then added embossing paste over the same stencil, I just didn't cover the entire front of the card.

AAA Cards Watercoloring challenge

It is time for another AAA Cards challenge.

I am so happy because it is to use watercoloring for your project. This is so my new most favorite technique so I was pretty anxious to create a card for it.
I used a brand new flower stamp from Rubbernecker.  They were at the Carson Stamp convention a few weeks ago.  They have a whole like of these neat flowers that are solid rubber and work perfectly with a watercolor technique.  I inked the stamp with mini Distress Stain pads, gave that a spritz of water and stamped it on watercolor paper.  More spritzes of water make the inks run and I love the result.  I also used a new stencil for the postage look images.
And for a fun photo...
This cutie was flying around my yard as I was out taking photos so it was pretty neat to actually be able to capture her!
