Sketches and Colors

Sketches and Colors - the fun challenges!!!
For my first card, I used the Card Positioning Systems sketch for this week. Now, I will say, this is a layout on a card I wouldn't have thought to use but I sure liked it, it is fun and different.
The poppy image is a digital stamp from The Wax Fruit Company. I colored it with Copic markers. The embossed cardstock is by Core'dinations.
 Here is the CPS sketch.
Next, I used the color combination that is the challenge for Cas-ual Fridays for this week. I wanted to use my brand new Lil' Inkers flip flop stamps and matching die.  The card base is cut with a Cricut cartridge.
Seriously, could these flip flops be any cuter!!! I cut the flip flops with the die, twice, once with white cardstock and again with the dark turquoise. The die has little cuts around the side so after I stamped the design on the white flip flops, I cut them down along those little cut lines so they are matted with the turquoise flip flops.
This is the Cas-ual Fridays color combo.

Happy Colors

I wanted to play along with a couple color challenges and both are happy, summer colors.
First off, the Colour Q combo along with some fun Hero Arts stamps.  I also wanted to have it fit the "Hey Girl" challenge at Simon Says.

This is the Colour Q combo.

Next up, The Play Date Cafe color combo along with the retro sketch for this week.

This was oh so easy with some cute Echo Park stickers.
Here is The Play Date Cafe combo.
And the retro sketch.

Mabel Lucie Attwell Stamp Release

Flower Soft has been releasing more and more adorable stamps lately and today the team is hosting a blog hop to show off the newest release.
I got to play with the "Let's Talk" set.  I am so in love with the vintage feel of the entire collection of these super cute stamps. To go along with our hop, there is a special when you place an order.

Just a little bit of coloring (I used my Copic markers) and you have an adorable card.  I also used some Pebbles patterned papers.
From my blog, hop on over the Deb Felt's blog to get a look at some more goodness.

Some Echo Park goodness

There are so many companies that I just love to use for crafting but Echo Park is one of those that is at the top of my list.
My first card uses the Card Positioning Systems sketch for this week.
The buttons, the sailboat and the sentiment label are all stickers.
Here is the CPS sketch, maybe you can find some time to use it!!!
I just love this green, I just love those cute stickers.
This wonderful bottom edge is created with a Kreaxions 4-in-1 punch.  These punches are so much fun to use and it just makes me happy to have a pretty edge.

Gotta keep stamping

Yes, I love stamps, I love stamping!!!
Another new stamp set for me is this amazing set of hexagons from The Stamps of Life.  The set contains different patterns and different sizes so that really, you could create with this over and over.  I used the Colour Q color combo for this week as my color inspiration.  This also fits the Moxie Fab Hexagon challenge.
(ps - I found another hexagon challenge at City Crafters!!!)
For my card I used three of the stamps in this set along with the sentiment.
 The Colour Q combo
This card fits the Card Positioning System sketch for this week along with some great Hero Arts stamps and a matching die.
I stamped the background with white and embossed it with white and then colored the cardstock with some Distress Stain.  The butterfly is colored with two shades of the Distress Stain and what I love is that this shape has a matching die for cutting it out.  I accented the butterfly with some Glossy Accents.
 Here is the CPS sketch.
Gotta share some photos...
We stopped for lunch and this neat sculpture was sitting on a bench.  My grandson immediately was trying to interact with it. It was so fun to capture these photos with my Hipstamatic camera on my phone.

What to do with a new stamp set!!!!

Create, what else should you do? I know, add in challenges that you can find online!
I just received a new stamp set from Hero Arts and I just had to sit down and play.  First off, I took Kimber's Saturday sketch at 2 peas and the color combination at The Play Date Cafe to create my card. How does it get better then some sunny yellow?
Here is a close-up.  This also goes along with the Cas-ual Fridays challenge to use strips. This set of stamps is all borders so that makes this fun and easy.  The yellow is Distress Ink in Mustard Seed. The stamp pads that I used at by Clearsnap.
This is The Play Date Cafe color inspiration piece.
 Here is Kimber's sketch.
Next card uses the retro sketch for this week plus this also fits that Cas-ual Fridays strip challenge since I just stamped the borders over and over.  It also fits the Moxie Fab Hexagon challenge.
I created a piece using the alphabet border stamp that I just stamped repeatedly and then colored with some Distress Markers sprayed with water.  Next I cut out shapes with my LifeStyle Hexagon dies.
 This is the retro sketch.
And, just for fun, more of my playing around with this stamp set!!!
After I stamped the rows of butterflies, I colored them by just running my Distress stain over each row.  I added LOTS of the ink so that when I picked it up it would run.  I sprayed it with water to help with that. This also fits the Cas-ual Friday strip challenge.
I used a Kreaxions 4-in-1 punch to create that great border along the bottom edge of my card.  I just love what a punched border adds.

Some Yellow here and Some Yellow there

I see so much of the color yellow used lately and I so love it.

For this card I used the Colour Q combo for my card and the Freshly Made sketch.  As usual, I am in love with the colors they put together. Using a color challenge always makes me go out of my box on combinations.  The little ball jar is a digital stamp by The Wax Fruit Company and the flowers are part of a digital stamp by Hero Arts.  Part of the fun of using digital stamps is that I can pick the size I want. For this card I was able to put the two stamps together and then I printed the image out as one.

All I needed was just a bit of coloring with my Copic markers and I used one of my new most favorite supplies, some Liquid Pearls by Ranger.
Here is the Colour Q combo.
And, the Freshly Made sketch that I used, I just turned the sketch on it's side.
For this card, I played around with a technique I have wanted to use for awhile. I also wanted to make it fit the Tuesday Trigger at Moxie Fab.  I cut a bunch of diamonds using my Spellbinders Nestabilities die.  Once they were cut, I cut each one in half.  The paper is by BasicGrey and it is 2 sided, so I alternated using both sides for my design.

Once I had my triangles in place, I gave my design the accent of black rhinestones.
Part of my inspiration is the Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger.  From this I picked up that great yellow and the triangle shapes in rows.

Not too early for Christmas

Do you start your Christmas cards early????
I got to play with a new kit of toppers from Flower Soft so I at least have one card created.  What is a topper? It is a set of printed, pre-colored pieces that can then be used on a project. The really cool things about these toppers is that they are cut in strategic places so that all you do is use your fingers to lift the leaves and petals here and there for a dramatic look.
I added some of the amazing gold Flower Soft to the middles of each of my flowers.

The NOEL sticker is a little sneak peek of something else new coming soon.  I added little rhinestones to it.
Here is a hint too: I placed a little bead of Glossy Accents under each leaf and petal that is lifted up to help give it some stability.
Check out the kit that I used for my card HERE.

Latte's and the Beach

First up, I wanted to use the retro sketch for this week.
One of my most recent purchases was some Gourmet Rubber Stamps.  I pulled out this adorable little coffee cup and started in.  It was fun to make my little tag accent have a kitchen look to it with the red gingham paper in the tiny squares.
I used a Sizzix embossing folder with a honeycomb pattern on the red cardstock.  I have purchased a cup of coffee that looked just like this with that foam heart on the top so it was so fun to color this one.
 Here is their cute sketch.
Now, for our "beach" theme, my card using the Card Positioning Systems sketch for this week.  On my last lss visit, I picked up a bunch of Authentique paper from this great collection.
The postcard image is part of one of the pieces of patterned paper.  I added the little sticker border with some Liquid Pearls.
Here is the CPS sketch that I followed.
AND...some photos to share.
Guess what we were doing this last Sunday afternoon on a wonderful summer day?  Yep, we opened a new big bottle of bubble soap.
His big sister usually makes the bubbles and he usually chases them. This year he got control of the wand!

How does it get any cuter!!!!
