Thank God for You card

I am trying to get a fun stock pile of cards to send to friends, I want to share one of them with you today. I used the CAS(e) this sketch for my inspiration.
The background to my card is the result of some playing around with stamps, inks and paints.  The label is from a brand new set of Hero Arts stamps, My Favorites set, the sentiment is from the Blessing to You set.
On a piece of acetate, I sprayed two colors of Stephanie Barnard Clearsnap sprays.  This became my "stamp pad".  I then stamped the background stamp into this puddle of inks.  I then stamped the background stamp on my white cardstock.  I love the watercolor look.  The bursts are a Hero Arts stamp that I inked with some Distress Paint.  The flower was stamped in black and embossed with clear embossing powder, then cut out.  I sprayed this with some of the same spray ink coloring the white portions of the image.

Loving a background stamp

When I got this new Hero Arts background stamp recently, I knew I wanted to find all of the fun ways that I could use it. The stamp is from the new Holiday and Stamp Your Story catalog.
For this card, I stamped the stamp with black ink and then embossed it with clear embossing powder on black cardstock.  Next I gave the entire image a coat of white paint.  I waited until the paint was partially dry and then wiped off the excess.  This exposed the black, embossed lines and filled in the open spaces in the image.  If you wait too long to wipe the paint off, it will have dried too much to remove successfully.
The banner and butterfly images are from the My Favorites Hero Arts set, the words are from the My Words set.  I colored the butterfly with two colors of stamp pads and then gave it a spritz of water so it has a watercolor look when stamped.

Hugs and Prayers

I love making cards that I can send to a friend just to say I am thinking about them and praying for them.
I just received this wonderful jar stamp set and matching die from Paper Smooches, so I set out to do just that, make a card for a friend.  I had previously added some color to a plain white piece of cardstock by blotting it into a puddle of two colors of spray ink. I loved the irregular look of that blotted ink and thought it would be a great backdrop to my card.
The jar and the word "Ball" are stamps from this Paper Smooches set.  I cut the jar with the matching die.  The flowers and tiny tag are from the same set.  The flowers were actually stamped in purple although that is a little bit hard to see here. That fun honeycomb accent is from a brand new set of square background stamps from Paper Smooches.  I thought that was a fun and unexpected accent.  I so love the verse that comes from another of Kim's stamp sets.

Black, Gold and Copper

I was excited to use the CAS(e) this sketch for this week.

I kind of moved the main focus piece on my card to the other side of the card but I still used the sketch as my inspiration.  I started out by using my brand new Dylusions white spray.  I wanted to see what this white looked like on black cardstock.  I was pleased to see the effect.
I also stamped one of the Brush Strokes stamps on the side with white ink.  I am loving using the feather from the My Favorite stamp set by Hero Arts, here I embossed it with Copper embossing powder and I also embossed it with Gold embossing powder.
Here is the CAS(e) this sketch.

Die cuts and punches

Once again, I love the color combo at Colour Q so I needed to play along.
I used this adorable Paper Smooches notebook die, the leaf die and then stamped the Paper Smooches rose.  My flower turned out a little more pink then coral but I love the end result so I am OK.
I also embossed the Navy cut notebook paper piece with a scallop embossing folder.  For the flower, I had colored a piece of white cardstock by placing it in a puddle of spray inks.  This just seemed like the most perfect place to stamp the flower.  There was some white showing through on the leaves of the flower so I colored them with a sky colored Copic marker.
Here is the Colour Q combo.
And, then for this card I just had fun with some of my new stamps, most from the Brush Strokes Hero Arts set.  The main background though is a stencil from Hero Arts softly colored with stamp pads.
I have a circle dot punch from EK Success and so I used that for some additional accents.

Great color combos

How about a couple challenges?
First off, I just had to play with the wonderful color combination at Dynamic Duos.  LOVE these sunny and happy colors together.
The medallion is a stamp from Impress Rubber stamps colored with Copic markers.  I also used a couple pieces of some paper tape.
Here is the Dynamic Duos combo.
Next up, I used a sketch from a brand new sketch blog, Seize the Sketch.  I loved finding another sketch to play along with.  I pulled out my Brush Strokes stamp set from Hero Arts.  I am having so much fun with these stamps.
I kept with a simple color combination, blue, red and black.  These are inks from Clearsnap.  Do you love the feathers!!!
Here is the sketch from Seize the Sketch.

Butterflies and bike riding

I wanted to play along with the Colour Q combo for this week so I pulled out a brand new set of stamps I just picked up from Tim Holtz.
I love the design of these stamps so I picked this set. It has something for Valentines day, Easter and Fourth of July not to mention other holidays.  I was pretty sure this butterfly would fit that color combo well.  The banner and sentiment are from Paper Smooches.
The background is a stamp from Fun Stampers Journey, I just didn't ink it thoroughly so it looks a little distressed.  The butterfly is colored with Copic markers and that yellow accent is punched with a Martha Stewart anywhere punch.  I added some Glossy Accents on portions of the butterfly.
Here is the Colour Q combo.
This also fits the Addicted to CAS Summer challenge.
I also have several new stamps from Hero Arts so I sat down and did a whole bunch of playing.  I'll be showing off more and more of that playing along the way.
I used the Brush Strokes set and just stamped randomly.  I used this little strip for a background for the bicycle stamps.

The die cut tree and stars

I feel in love with this adorable die cut tree from Simon Says and so I found a great way to use it on a card.
The CAS(e) this sketch for this week was just the idea I needed. I also used a Paper Smooches banner die for my little banner with it's stamped sentiment.
I love the look of using the negative of a cut so that was what I went for with my tree and this sketch.  I just backed the cut out tree with a piece of patterned paper and to make it even more interesting, I used the extra leaves dies and cut some out in a couple colors.  Those were added with some foam tape.
Here is the CAS(e) this sketch.
I also wanted to use the Freshly Made sketch and this little combo of products made it so easy.
The patterned paper is Echo Park. I used a little calendar accent piece from Elle's Studio.  It has the empty place along the bottom edge so I stamped a sentiment using a new set of alphabet stamps from Hero Arts.
Here is the Freshly Made sketch.
