Loving black dots

I love playing with stencils and spray ink.  This great piece with the black dots is the result of those two supplies. The stencil is from Tim Holtz and the spray ink is from Clearsnap. The die cut word is from Paper Smooches.
I used that piece to create a card to fit the Dynamic Duos challenge and the Less is More "round" challenge.
Not sure if my green is exactly correct but I like it so I went with it.  I love the look of using a negative of a cut so I took a circle punch and punched out a portion of the black dot piece, making it a little off center.  The butterfly die is from Cheery Lyn Designs.

Great color combos

How about a couple challenges?
First off, I just had to play with the wonderful color combination at Dynamic Duos.  LOVE these sunny and happy colors together.
The medallion is a stamp from Impress Rubber stamps colored with Copic markers.  I also used a couple pieces of some paper tape.
Here is the Dynamic Duos combo.
Next up, I used a sketch from a brand new sketch blog, Seize the Sketch.  I loved finding another sketch to play along with.  I pulled out my Brush Strokes stamp set from Hero Arts.  I am having so much fun with these stamps.
I kept with a simple color combination, blue, red and black.  These are inks from Clearsnap.  Do you love the feathers!!!
Here is the sketch from Seize the Sketch.

A stamp here - A stamp there

Yes, I sooooo love stamps!
This adorable set from Lawn Fawn just arrived in my mailbox this week and they just seemed like the perfect fit for the Dynamic Duos color combination.
I knew the little lanterns would be perfect in this Coral color but I needed a backdrop.  I turned to a stencil from Pink Paislee and some great black, Stephanie Barnard spray ink from Clearsnap.  This is actually the negative of the stencil.  I sprayed the black on the stencil on white cardstock and then I never want to waste the ink so I turned it over and placed it on another piece of white cardstock. I love this reverse side the best for this card.  The little extra lines on the lanterns was done with Copic markers and I added some black Liquid Pearls.
Here is the Dynamic Duos combo.
This card uses the retro sketch for this week.
I pulled out several Hero Arts stamps to create the card.  The little house is colored by applying Distress Stain directly to the little image.

Yummy GREEN!

Can I say it just made me happy to use this great green along with the black and white?
I used the color combination at Dynamic Duos for my card.  Since I simply love these colors, it was pretty easy. They also suggested using a "plant" theme and somehow I forgot that but butterflies land on plants so maybe with a twist I did get it.
This wonderful paint splatter background is a new stamp from Hero Arts.  I spritzed the green ink with water before stamping it which helps with the watercolor look. The little tag and butterfly are also from Hero Arts and both have a matching die making them sooooo easy to cut out.

Here is the Dynamic Duos combo.

New stamp fun

The other day, I ordered some pretty wonderful Avery Elle stamp sets.  Of course, I just had to put them to use.
I used the retro sketch for this week with this set.  I just love the label and the sentiments in this set and I thought I was able to put the sketch to use with the stamps.
I used a yummy new pigment stamp pad from Clearsnap for the label.  Do you see the strip that I created by just stamping the leaf sprig over and over?
 Here is the retro sketch.
LOVE these solid flowers and leaves in this set and knew I could get the Dynamic Duos color combination.
That neat label shape is cut with my brand new Cricut cartridge, Artiste from Close to My Heart.  The stamp pads are by Clearsnap. The strip accent is paper tape from Queen & Co.

Stamps and Punches

I wanted to use a couple challenges, but what else is new!!!
First up, I used the color combination at Dynamic Duos. The combo of the black and yellow with some white makes me so happy!
I wanted to create my own pattern of the black and yellow so I use a set from Wplus9 Designs that I so love and some Clearsnap inks.  The black design is cut with the Cricut and the word "hope" is a die cut from Wplus9 Designs.
Here is this weeks Dynamic Duos challenge.

Lately I have seen talk regarding Ombre coloring and it was fun to give it a try.  Moxie Fab has issued a challenge to create a card with an Ombre look.  For my card it was pretty easy after I pulled out a set of cardstocks that were of the same family but each piece was a little darker then the other.
I then accented my strips of cardstock with punched flowers using all of the same shades.  The punch is from Martha Stewart. I thought it was so fun what a simple look this created.

This card fits with the Avery Elle photo inspiration challenge.  I was taken with the simplicity of the photo yet the neat dynamic to that photo.  With that, I also went with a simple look and I thought the color combination gave my card a similar dynamic.
I stamped two of the flowers from a set of stamps by Avery Elle and cut both out.  When I placed them on my card, I layered them with some foam tape between the layers. The cardstock comes with that embossed design on it already and the sentiment is from Simon Says.
Here is the Avery Elle inspiration photo.

Pinks and Reds plus some Browns

I wanted to use the great color combination from Colour Q to create a card so I also went to the retro sketch for my idea.
The colors are a wonderful combination of pinks with some deep brown. The label shape is cut with the Cricut, I just cut one side of that off to help fit the sketch. That patterned paper is from Authentique.
The main focus is a great stamp from Hero Arts. What a neat way to say thanks to a friend.
Here is the Colour Q combo.

Here is the retro sketch that I used.
For this card I also used some "new to me" Hero Arts stamps.
I took the easy way to color the flower, I gave the image a generous spray of some Adirondac Red Pepper spray. The smaller flowers were colored with Copic markers. I just love that notebook paper stamp, I can see that I will use it often.

And for the browns, I used the amazing color combination from Dynamic Duos plus it fits the Simon Says Stamp "anything goes" challenge! I pulled out some more Hero Arts stamps and a great Fluid Chalk stamp pad for the soft background.
The doily piece is a LifeStyles die cut, the "love you" is cut with the Cricut and the heart is a Hero Arts stamp with matching die cut shape.  The heart makes this fit the Addicted to CAS challenge.

Here is the Dynamic Duos combo.

My card also fits the Addicted to CAS challenge to use a heart. Since I love to use a heart somewhere on a card, I had to use this challenge!

Sweet little bugs

I just received this new adorable little stamp set from Taylored Expressions and of course, had to put it to use.
I am in love with the trend of "jars" and these little bugs that come in this set are the perfect match for a Valentine's day card.  I wanted to use the Dynamic Duos color combination this week and that fit my theme perfectly plus I used the CAS-ual Fridays challenge for Long and Short. I cut some of the papers shorter to place on top of the longer background paper so I thought that fit the theme.
The jar stamp has a matching die too, not to mention the really cute sentiments in the set.  The pretty circle shape is my favorite Spellbinders Nestablities die! My Mind's Eye papers from a mini pad.

Pretty shapes

Both of the cards I want to share today include some pretty cool shapes.

This first one uses a wooden doily shape from Maya Road plus I used the retro sketch for the layout of my card.

The black strips are cut from the Tweed background stamp by Hero Arts. I mentioned the other day that I could probably use this stamp somehow on every card I make, I love it so much. I did spray the wooden piece with some gold Heidi Swapp spray, a Broken China Chalkboard spray and I inked the edges with a brown stamp pad.
Here is the retro sketch.

This card uses my brand new My Favorite Things snowflake die. It cut like butter!!! I used the Dynamic Duos color combination for it although it is a pretty subtle color combo and I also used the CAS-ology challenge for a WINTER theme. We don't get snow but I can still use snowflakes on cards.

I have this wonderful, chunky glitter from Impress Rubber Stamps. I coated portions of my snowflake with Glossy Accents by Ranger and then poured on the glitter. The white dots are Liquid Pearls. The pink is a stamp pad that I rubbed over the woodgrain embossed portion.
Here is the Dynamic Duos combo.
Here is the CASology challenge.
