Pinks and Reds plus some Browns

I wanted to use the great color combination from Colour Q to create a card so I also went to the retro sketch for my idea.
The colors are a wonderful combination of pinks with some deep brown. The label shape is cut with the Cricut, I just cut one side of that off to help fit the sketch. That patterned paper is from Authentique.
The main focus is a great stamp from Hero Arts. What a neat way to say thanks to a friend.
Here is the Colour Q combo.

Here is the retro sketch that I used.
For this card I also used some "new to me" Hero Arts stamps.
I took the easy way to color the flower, I gave the image a generous spray of some Adirondac Red Pepper spray. The smaller flowers were colored with Copic markers. I just love that notebook paper stamp, I can see that I will use it often.

And for the browns, I used the amazing color combination from Dynamic Duos plus it fits the Simon Says Stamp "anything goes" challenge! I pulled out some more Hero Arts stamps and a great Fluid Chalk stamp pad for the soft background.
The doily piece is a LifeStyles die cut, the "love you" is cut with the Cricut and the heart is a Hero Arts stamp with matching die cut shape.  The heart makes this fit the Addicted to CAS challenge.

Here is the Dynamic Duos combo.

My card also fits the Addicted to CAS challenge to use a heart. Since I love to use a heart somewhere on a card, I had to use this challenge!

What to do with a new stamp set!!!!

Create, what else should you do? I know, add in challenges that you can find online!
I just received a new stamp set from Hero Arts and I just had to sit down and play.  First off, I took Kimber's Saturday sketch at 2 peas and the color combination at The Play Date Cafe to create my card. How does it get better then some sunny yellow?
Here is a close-up.  This also goes along with the Cas-ual Fridays challenge to use strips. This set of stamps is all borders so that makes this fun and easy.  The yellow is Distress Ink in Mustard Seed. The stamp pads that I used at by Clearsnap.
This is The Play Date Cafe color inspiration piece.
 Here is Kimber's sketch.
Next card uses the retro sketch for this week plus this also fits that Cas-ual Fridays strip challenge since I just stamped the borders over and over.  It also fits the Moxie Fab Hexagon challenge.
I created a piece using the alphabet border stamp that I just stamped repeatedly and then colored with some Distress Markers sprayed with water.  Next I cut out shapes with my LifeStyle Hexagon dies.
 This is the retro sketch.
And, just for fun, more of my playing around with this stamp set!!!
After I stamped the rows of butterflies, I colored them by just running my Distress stain over each row.  I added LOTS of the ink so that when I picked it up it would run.  I sprayed it with water to help with that. This also fits the Cas-ual Friday strip challenge.
I used a Kreaxions 4-in-1 punch to create that great border along the bottom edge of my card.  I just love what a punched border adds.

A sketch here and a sketch there...

(Little movie review first) We went to see Brave! The new Disney Princess is oh so adorable! BUT...there were some dark and rather scary parts for a little four year old. The movie contained a witch and a spell and that is the kind of topic we tend to try to avoid in our movie watching, we weren't aware that was part of the story. I can mostly give it a thumbs up, I just wish these movies didn't always seem to have to have the dark portions.  There was a little cartoon kind of movie first and that was something I would want to see over and over, it was beyond cute.

I get to share a couple fun new cards with you in this post.
First off, a card based on the Freshly Made sketch. I am also using it for the Cas-ual Friday challenge for PINK. It isn't all pink but I love the pink accents.
I just got a wonderful little mini pad of papers by Pebbles, Inc from the Sunny Side collection. I thought the most perfect way to show off a mix of adorable little patterns papers was to cut them in little pieces.
I used my new die set of Hexagons from Lifestyle Crafts. It was so fun to create my little "quilt" design.
This wonderful doily design is also a die by Lifestyle Crafts.  The "Smile" banner is a stamp by Pebbles.
Here is the Freshly Made sketch I followed.
Next up is a card I created around the CPS sketch for this week. Sizzix has been our sponsor this month and I have already mentioned how much I love the label die set that I was able to play with but I have to say it again!!!
The set contains several slightly different shapes that are all meant to work together. I think they are so fun. The little strip under the label is punched with an EK Success border punch and that cute little felt birdie is from a set by Heidi Grace that I picked up a Joann's Craft store.
This is this weeks Card Postioning Systems sketch.

I know it is just about Summer!

I wanted to play along with the Colour Q challenge this week, so my first card is for that.
You can tell I just received a brand new package in the mail, a set of Hexagon dies from Life Style Crafts.  And, yes, I did use a winter theme for it, it just seemed it needed snowflakes!
There are soooooo many different sizes of dies in this set, the creating is unlimited. I loved the color on color of the blue snowflakes.
Here is the Colour Q combo
Since I am on a winter theme, I have another card to share.  I am playing a whole lot lately with digital papers and stamps.  The background here is a digital stamp by Hero Arts available at 2 Peas in a Bucket.
The little snowman is from a digital kit and so is the sentiment. I layered the snowman right over the background and printed them both out at once.
Gotta share some photos using my brand new lens and film for my Histamatic camera on my iPhone. It is soooo much fun. The frames are kind of funky and you never know what frame you will get with your photo.  I walked around my yard for my pics.

This is along one of our fences.  I took the same view a few times to show you some of the frames. The photos seem to have a watercolor look to them.
