Sweet little bugs

I just received this new adorable little stamp set from Taylored Expressions and of course, had to put it to use.
I am in love with the trend of "jars" and these little bugs that come in this set are the perfect match for a Valentine's day card.  I wanted to use the Dynamic Duos color combination this week and that fit my theme perfectly plus I used the CAS-ual Fridays challenge for Long and Short. I cut some of the papers shorter to place on top of the longer background paper so I thought that fit the theme.
The jar stamp has a matching die too, not to mention the really cute sentiments in the set.  The pretty circle shape is my favorite Spellbinders Nestablities die! My Mind's Eye papers from a mini pad.
Here is the Dynamic Duos challenge.
And the CAS-ual Fridays challenge.

It is a Rose and a Tiny Envelope

Another post to share some sketch cards.
First off, my Card Positioning Systems card for this week. Taylored Expressions is our sponsor and I was so happy to get to play with this amazing set, Rosy Posey.  It included some solid roses and some outline roses, both in two sizes.
I used some Clearsnap stamp pads.  I used a Chalk stamp pad in Orchid Pastel.  It was just the right kind of ink to stamp a nice, solid rose.  Next I stamped over that with a ColorBox Die stamp pad in Dark Cherry.  The leaves were also stamped in that same Dark Cherry and after I cut the scallop circle label with a Spellbinders Nestablities, I spritzed it with some Clearsnap Smooch Spritz.
Next up is my Unscripted sketches card for this week.  This week's sketch includes a piggyback challenge - use a pocket.
I am so in love with the wonderful, vintage feel of these papers by BasicGrey and it was fun that the different patterned papers go together so nicely.

I found this little vellum envelop in my stash and thought it was a great way to add a "pocket" to my card.

Chairs and Windows - Looks like Home

The first order of business in this post is to announce who the winner of the Nikki Sivils products is from my blog. It was so wonderful to have so many of you visit on National Scrapbook Day and as usual, I wish I was picking every single person who commented!
The winner is: Amber - Ambrosia Designs
She will be receiving an amazing package of scrapbooking supplies from Nikki Sivils scrapbooker.

The Moxie Fab blog is having a challenge to create something with a chair on it so here is my card.
Nikki Sivils scrapbooker has this cute collection called Victoria's Street and it has chairs in it, how perfect is that? That top little border is cut from the patterned paper that has pillows all over it.
The chair, lamp and pillow are cut from one of the patterned papers and the stamp is from the Nikki Sivils Victoria's Street stamp set.
And I wanted to share my Card Positioning Systems card for this week. Taylored Expressions is our sponsor and the stamp set I used has this adorable window in it.
Notice this totally amazing wood grain cardstock for the card base? That is new from Core'dinations and Cosmo Cricket. All it took was a little sanding to expose that great wood grain embossed design.

And a couple photos. I stopped by one of our beaches this last week. I thought these two photos were kinda fun. They are from the same spot but one focuses on the wood fence and one focuses on the water. I loved the contrast in the two looks.

Challenges everywhere

I love to find challenges, they inspire me.
So my first card that I want to share today was created with the color challenge of Colour Q and I also used the 2 Sketches 4 You sketch #51 for this week.
I have wanted to use this photo that I took of some lilies and they just seemed to fit with the shape of the sketch and the colors. The white cardstock was embossed with a Cuttlebug embossing folder.
Notice my NEW punch! It is an 8-in-1 punch, I saw them used and just had to give one a try. Plus, I pleated some patterned paper for my accent across the bottom of the card.
This card uses the sketch at Taylored Expressions and it also uses a bouquet of roses stamp by Taylored Expressions. I thought the My Little Shoebox cloud patterned paper was a fun match.
I cut a label shape and accented that with a blue pen and some yellow Memories Mist spray. The flowers were colored with Copic markers and tiny pearls accented that.
For this card I used the sketch at Get Sketchy and some Nikki Sivils Scrapbooker papers. This paper is a big circle and I used a portion of it and that made for the perfect fit for the sketch.
The lines in the side of the card are created in the Core'dinations cardstock with a Score-Pal tool and then that was sanded.
