Splatters and flowers

I always love challenges and I will most often find an online challenge to be the spark to my inspiration.  I also love to add splatters to a project so this was an easy one for sure.

I started off with a flower set of stamps from Alternew.  Adding various colors with Distress Stains made for easy and fast coloring. That cute tag is a die from Lil' Inker Designs.

The main flower was loosely colors with Distress Stains by touching the dabber top directly to the paper.  Spritzes of water make the inks run for a watercolor look.
I first gave the background to my card a slight wash with a soft green Distress Stain and then added splatters to match my color combination.  Splatters can be added a few different ways but a fast way to do it is to take a spray bottle of Distress Stains or other inks that come in a spray bottle and unscrew the spray cap.  There is ink on the tube that goes into the bottle so with your fingers, flick that plastic tube and you will get splatters of ink.  The only thing is you aren't controlling where the splatters go.

You are my happy place

I'm sharing a few things I madly love, some hearts and the cutest little puppy dog stamp
The puppy stamp is by Reverse Confetti, a favorite stamp company of mine and another fav on this card is the use of embossing paste. I so love the texture that the paste adds. The tag is a die that is also by Reverse Confetti and how about the watercolor look with the Distress Stains.
This close up view gives you a better idea of how neat the embossing paste looks, I added it with the use of a dot stencil. My card fits a few online challenges, I love the inspiration that comes from using challenges.

Puppy Love

February brings all things "hearts" to mind.
Now add in an adorable little puppy and we're good.  The background here starts with a mix of some Distress Stain with a watercolor look and then it's embossed with a design.
To get the watercolor look inks on the hearts, I first added more Distress Stains to a piece of watercolor paper and then cut out the hearts with a die once the inks were dry.
This cute puppy is a stamp from Reverse Confetti.  He is also cut from a piece of paper that had some Distress Stain on it.  You can tell from this card how much I love inks with a watercolor look.

My card with several heart shapes fits The Card Concept challenge.
It also fits the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge the Color of Love.
