Don't you just love a great background?

There are so many ways to create a fun and unique background and spray inks are sure one of them. Now add to that all of the great choices for spray inks!!!
I use several different kinds of spray inks and for different reasons. So many of them have an iridescent aspect to them and that is the look I sometimes want but not always. I recently found the Stephanie Barnard Spray inks from Clearsnap. What I love about these is that they are just plain intense colors.  With this card I am mixing them with a totally brand new set of stamps from The Crafts Meow.  When I first say this set, I knew I needed it immediately.
I tried something a little different with the sprays.  I usually spray from a distance and this time I wanted to spray pretty close and create puddles of a variety of colors. By spraying close, you do get puddles.  I then spritzed that with water to mix the colors a little bit.  Next I left it to dry. Every background will be different depending on the color assortment used.  I simply stamped the image with black and embossed with clear.  I added black Liquid Pearls to the flowers.

It's Girly Girl time

Flower Soft has recently released some extremely fun new products, Fabulous Fashions downloads and matching stamps.  There are so many wonderful, girly girl images in these sets it is hard to choose a favorite. Each download has several great options and then in each dress style, there is a set of stamps. I love the downloads because they come all colored already making them so fast and easy to use on a project.
For this card, I picked the 3-D decoupage option from the Fabulous Fashion Daisy collection.  This 3-D option comes with several layers of the dress, I only used one layer to place on top of the printed dress.
Here you can see the way this looks with that additional layer.  I used some great Liquid Pearls to accent the top of the dress. That striped paper is one of the options in this set too.
There is also a special collection for the 4th of July.  I decided to pair this cute hat with a star embossed card base done with the Cuttlebug.
After I printed out the hat (remember it comes all colored in already), I cut out the hat with this super cute Paper Smooches notebook paper die.  The sentiment stamp is also by Paper Smooches.  Again, I used some Liquid Pearls for additional accents.
Be sure to check out Flower Softs Facebook page for other great ideas and the way some of the team used the other downloads.

How do you use a flower stamp?

I so love this set of clear stamps that I got from Avery Elle so of course I try to think of new ways to use the various flowers in the set.
I put two of the flowers to use on this card and I knew I wanted to use the wonderful color combo from The Play Date Café.  I had a little bit of trouble finding stamp pads that were the exact colors but I think I came pretty close and I love the result.
I just kept stamping the larger flower over and over not inking the stamp everytime so some of the shades are a little lighter.  I did a little bit of accent with one of the tiny flowers.  The sentiment is also from Avery Elle.

Here is the yummy The Play Date Café combo.

It also fits the CASology challenge for the theme of "BLOOM".
And, see what we did this week!! Got some corn planted for the fun of watching it grow.

Butterflies and Hummingbirds

I already loved using butterflies on a card and so the challenge at Simon Says Stamp to created something with "wings" was pretty easy.
Not to mention a new-to-me set of stamps from Paper Smooches.  I started off with a cool stencil and some wonderful Stephanie Barnard Clearsnap spray inks.  I so love these things, I love the vivid colors and they are the perfect match to stencils.
I actually used three separate butterfly stamps from the same set for my card. The larger butterfly was created by stamping a solid image with a vibrant color and then stamping over that with the outline image.  I filled the outline image with Glossy Accents and sprinkled on some great Stephanie Barnard glitter, this is only a glimpse of how sparkly it is.  The little yellow pearl-like dots are from Liquid Pearl dots.
Flower Soft is featuring their card toppers on their blog and Facebook page this week. The toppers are so fun because they come all colored and each package has more then one design in it.
I add some Flower Soft to the little flowers on the branch.

Playing with fun products

Because of the generosity of Kool Tak, I was able to use some Flower Soft products along with some pretty cool Kool Tak products to create a card.
I used their double sided tape to attach a row of their foil, their micro beads and a row of Ocean Ultra Fine Flower Soft to my card.  I picked the white cardstock for a background so these items would show off well.  It is pretty neat how easily all of these items stuck to the tape making for a fun and fast card.
Here is a close up of the items used with the tape and the little butterflies are punch out pieces from the Spring Flowers kit by Flower Soft. That wonderful sentiment is from Avery Elle.
All this week Flower Soft has been featuring the use of the Kool Tak products on their Facebook page, take a peek.
