My Heart Smiles

I don't what challenge I loved the most as I created this card.
I'll start with the Color Throwdown color challenge because I knew I had to play along with this combo.  The layout of the card was then inspired by the Freshly Made Sketch and the CAS(e) this Sketch.
The bottom border design is a stamp by Lawn Fawn and then the color was added with Distress Stains.  The flower is from Altenew.

So Happy We Are Friends

I am so in love with the Freshly Made sketch for this week so I just had to sit down and play.
Something about the sketch made me also want to keep my card rather simple so I started out using a stencil from Alternew to create a subtle background with gray ink.
The stitched squares are from a die set by My Favorite Things, the leaf is a layered stamp from Altenew and the "thanks" is from Paper Smooches.  Lots of Distress Inks were used.

You're Awesome

Again playing with some great color challenges and various Distress Inks.

The background is a mix of Distress Stains.  One of them is a silver metallic ink and I tried to get the light on the card so that you could see the metallic ink.  The flower from Altenew is simply stamped in it's outline form so that background was able to show through.

I used a few white Nuvo Crystal drops for accent and the sentiment and the banner stamp and die are from Avery Elle.

Puppy Love

I'm always a fan of red and hearts so it was easy to play along with a couple online challenges.
I used a very simple messy background of Distress Inks and then built my card around that.
I cut the word "love" out of a piece of kraft colored paper and then cut that piece into a banner shape, lining it with black paper.  That adorable little puppy is a stamp with its matching die from Reverse Confetti.

Sending Love & Hugs

My card started with the colors in the ColorThrowdown challenge and some Distress Inks for a messy background.
The Distress Inks and watercolor paper were just meant to go together and the perfect set up for just adding inks and water and let happen what happens.  I had stamped the flowers by Altenew in the bottom corner with white ink and white embossing powder and then when the inks are added the embossed lines act as a resist.
I like to "place" the various colors right where I want them so in effect the flowers are colored but this has to be the easiest way to color.  The "hello" is a die from Paper Smooches.

Special Delivery

The AAA card team has a challenge this week for a One Layer Card and I actually find that to be one of my most challenging techniques but of course I had to give it a try.
I used watercolor cardstock to start my card.  The Paper Players has the best photo challenge this week so that was where my inspiration came for for my creation.  I started with a wash of Distress Inks in the soft blues and then I used a stencil and a brown ink to get the foundation design.
Next I added a few stamped images, the lips, the "always", the Special Delivery and the sentiment that is from a set by Simon Says Stamp.
Here is the AAA Cards challenge.
