World Card Making Day part 2

Hooray! This is the day for all Card Makers!!!! There are celebrations all over the internet, I hope I can plug into some of the fun today.

 I wanted to share a card that uses the Colour Q combination.  I love, love, love this combo. The sentiment is a Hero Arts stamp and the woodgrain cardstock is from Simon Says store.

 I used some new PaperTrey, Inc. stamps to create my card.  I so love these flowers.

 Another card I wanted to share uses some neat Close to My Heart stamps. 

This shows off some second generation stamping.  When I inked the main image with either red or turquoise, I stamped it more then once before reinking so that the ink ends up being in different shades of the colors.

The color might say it all

Now for my first card, I just had to use the color combo challenge at The Play Date Cafe.

I really want to go there!!! But in the meantime, I used the color combo to create a card.

I have wanted to use this adorable stamp set by My Favorite Things for awhile now and I thought that color combo was the perfect way to color my little guy on the swing. 

I, of course, needed to add a few more colors to create my little scene but I still have the golden yellow and that great deep red the focal point.  The blue background was created with a spray of Glimmer Mist.  The card base is Core Impressions by Core'dinations from the Jenni Bowlin collection.  I love this embossed pattern for a "boy" look.  I did add some Aleene's Paper Glaze to the leaves and the wood swing just to add a little extra interest to my image although it was hard to show you that in the photograph. 

This card is my Card Positionin Systems card for this week. The sponsor is The Stamps of Life.  I loved using all of these pinks and blues to create a "girly" card with those cute flowers.  That loopy piece is cut from a piece of paper that started out 12" x 12". 

The flowers were colored with Copic markers and I added Aleene's Paper Glaze to each flower.  Isn't it neat the dimension that that glaze adds?

Tigger and CPS

What do those two things have to do with each other? Absolutely nothing except they are both part of my blog post for today.

This absolutely adorable Tigger was at our house tonight. Of course we had to do a little photo shoot before he went to the church Harvest party.

I so loved the patterned papers that she sent me, I just had to create two cards with them.

The "numbers" are one stamp with all of the numbers on it and I stamped that twice on my paper. The "verse" stamp is then stamped over that.
This card uses three of the patterned papers. I just loved how well they all went together.

More Close To My Heart goodness and CPS

I already mentioned earlier this week that Susan Tomaino, Independent Close To My Heart (CTMH) Consultant was the sponsor for this week at the CPS sketch blog. Be sure to check out her web site. My first card uses the CPS sketch for this week and the papers, ink pads and stamps that I had to play with. I turned the sketch on it's side.

I love the papers that I picked to work with but I have to tell you, this bird set is way too much fun. It comes with several bodies, wings, legs, tails and some words. It is a mix and match kind of set and I could play with it forever!!! I punched out the tiny flowers and the middles of the flowers were created with White 3-D Fashion Paint by Tulip.

I thought that one of the wings in the set looked like a leaf so I stamped a background with it on the kraft colored cardstock from the set of papers.

In this view you can see the "parts" that made up this bird. I stamped the wing separately and then added it with foam tape for added dimension.

This view lets you see that the brown card is small and it is mounted to the black background card. I added score lines in that black paper which is Black Magic by Core'dinations.

Since the patterned paper is so fitting for little kids, I wanted to also create a simple layout with a few of the prints.

It's about CLOSE TO MY HEART this week

The Card Positioning Systems sketch blog team had the joy of working with some great Close To My Heart products this week. Susan Tomaino, Independent Close To My Heart (CTMH) Consultant was our sponsor for this week. There is a special reason that I was very happy with using these papers, stamp pads and stamps this week. That is because about 20 years ago, my very first introduction to the world of rubber stamping was through a DOTS party. Somewhere along the way, the name was changed to CTMH and these days they offer so many more products then they did back then. I remember how amazed I was and wanting basically the entire catalog.

I will post my card using the CPS sketch later this week since it isn't scheduled to go up on the CPS blog yet. BUT, we received so many really fun products, I wanted to create several things so I am showing you two cards today. These mostly use the papers that I selected.

I just feel in love with these cute animals that are a part of one of the pieces of patterned paper from the Animal Cookies collection. The card represents four different prints, I love when prints go together so well.

I also cut this number "3" from one of the papers and then coated it with the Aleene's Paper Glaze. I love giving an accent like this an added boost with an epoxy look.

This is a mini card. It is 4" square. The red heart paper is one of the prints and I cut the little monkey out of the patterned paper with the animal in it. I just love this little guy. Aleene's Paper Glaze coats the little heart in his hand.
