More Color Choices - Focus on Yellow

One of my favorite color challenges is black and white with a color.
I am working with a "new to me" challenge blog and it is a color challenge adding yellow to the black and white.  I started out by stamping my sentiment from Printworks.  I put a mask over that and gave the white paper some sprays of color.  I used Heidi Swapp Gold and Clearsnap Yellow.
That really neat flourish design is from Darcie's, I stamped it and then cut it out.  Some buttons and an enamel dot along with your yellow Liquid Pearls were the finishing touches.

Taking care of business and other good things

So, first of all, can I take care of some business?
Core'dinations is doing a feature on Graphic 45 papers and the new Graphic 45 Core Impressions Cardstocks and this includes some give-ways.  Check out the Core'dinations blog to put your name in for a prize.
Next, will you vote for me this week. I have a card at Scrapbook Etc that is in the running for a prize and you can vote each day this week.  Thanks if you have the time.
And, I just had a birthday.  I had so much fun receiving emails from all kinds of companies and businesses with birthday presents.  I needed to share the list with you. . .

Rubio's Mexican restaurant - free entree up to $7
Hometown Buffet - free dinner with the purchase of a dinner
Wendy's - $1 off

Pick up Stix - free wonton appetizer
Fuddruckers - free Hamburger
Betty Crocker - free recipe book download
Del Taco - free milk shake
Starbucks free drink - postcard in the mail
I guess there are even more places that do this, you can search on the internet for more. It sure made the day fun.
Now to share a card - my Card Positioning Systems card for this week. I used some new stamps by Darcie Heater stamps.
Here is a link to this actual set

The set includes parts to create little guys, this penguin, a snowman, an owl, etc.  I just love the patterns in the different parts.
Many of the parts are interchangeable.  The background was embossed with a Cuttlebug embossing folder on Gemstones Core'dinations.
And, last but not least - we went to Disneyland yesterday. It is amazing to go over the Christmas holidays.  I'll share more photos later but this is from the fantastic fireworks show. If you went for no other reason, you would want to go to see this.
The lights kept changing the colors of the castle - amazing!

Amazing and Thankful all at the same time!

I am usually a pretty happy person but I am SOOOOO happy right now. I know that Christmas is "Jesus is the Reason for the Season" but I also love so many things that come along at this time of year.  Here are my favs...
1.  Eggnog Frappucino's and Latte's are back at Starbucks.  Why we can't have Eggnog all year long is a mystery to me but since we don't, I wait for November when it comes back.
2.  A close second to this is Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf's new Red Velvet Hot Chocolate! OHHHH wow and another drink that will probably only be around for awhile.
3.  The last is this variety of Truffles by Lindt - Dark Peppermint, Dark Chocolate shell with a smooth Peppermint filling in a dark green package.  I usually only find this variety at Target's and believe me, I stock up.

I haven't shared my Card Positioning Systems sketch for this last week yet so here it is today.
The sketch is simple and I love it!  Gotta love this BasicGrey patterned paper too.

The label is readymade by WeRMemory Keepers and they are so fun to use. Behind that, I embossed a piece of white cardstock with a Sizzix embossing folder. I thought it was a fun little accent.
And here is my Unscripted sketch for the sketch starting today, Saturday.
I am showing off my brand new stamp from a set by Darcie Heater. I was able to attend a stamp convention this last week and I was totally amazed at this great selection in the Darcie's booth. I have loved this company for along time but I had thought they weren't my style anymore. Boy was I surprised. I found so many sets I just plain loved! I colored the stamp by tapping it with Memento stamp pads.
And, now for a few more Vineyard photos...

Is that a scene right out of the books?
These flowers were so beautiful, especially with the grapes in the background.
Can you see that I was really there!!!
