A little bit of play time

Whenever I have a few minutes to play around with paper, glue and stamps, I love to turn to an online challenge or sketch. Here I went to the retro sketch.

 I created the interesting background with a Hero Arts background stamp. I love the pink and that it didn't stamp completely. I added some pink Liquid Pearls to the pattern.

 For my one larger accent piece to match the sketch, I went to a digital stamp set from Hero Arts.  I had purchased it from 2 peas but it doesn't seen to be available there anymore. I picked the size I wanted and the cut it out. I colored it with Stephanie Barnard spray inks from Clearsnap. I masked off portions so I could spray different colors in each section. LOVE how it turned out. The sentiment is also from Hero Arts.

We went to find a fireworks display last night and loved it!!! They were setting off any fireworks in our own town this year so we went to a neighboring town, stopping off for some really good pizza first!

All about Roses

First off, I have a movie review I just have to share!!! We went to see The Croods! SOOOO much fun. This movie is so hilarious. We came out saying we weren't sure we had laughed this much during a movie as this one. That makes it really fun for the adults as well as the kids.

I recently received an adorable little set of stamps from Wplus9 Designs and I just knew I needed to play with it this weekend.

 First off, I wanted something super simple so I could use the cute sketch from CAS(E) this sketch.  The sentiment is from another set from the same company.

 I stamped one rose, masked that to stamp two leaves and then finished it with this neat sentiment. I cut it out with a Hero Arts die.  LOVE that chicken wire embossing folder.

 While I had the stamps out, I played some more. I pulled out some of my Stephanie Barnard Clearsnap stamp pads, I just love the shades.  I partially embossed my red card base.

This was so easy because all I did was to repeatedly stamp the rose and the leaves. I didn't ink the rose every time, that makes for a variety of shades of the same color ink.  Another neat sentiment from the sentiment set.
