Can we talk about Hero Arts stamps?

The sponsor for the Card Positioning Systems sketch blog this week is Hero Arts stamps. I have been a rubber stamper for something like 20 years and I am pretty sure Hero Arts stamps have been around all of that time and maybe even before that. I love when a company stays so consistent on good stuff.
My first two cards that I want to share on this post are using the CPS sketch #161 and Hero Arts stamps. I really wanted to be able to show off the stamps that they let me play with and I added a stamp or two that I already had. For this first card, the stamp I already had was this great, cloud background stamp. It is so fun because there are several different looks you can give it. The butterfly is from the Antique Engravings set and I love the sentiments in this Clear Truly Appreciated set, I love the size.
I stamped the clouds background stamp on white cardstock with blue ink and then I sprayed it with Glimmer Mist. White dots were added here and there with the Tulip 3-D Fashion Paint. I stamped the butterfly on blue cardstock with black ink and embossed it with clear embossing powder. Notice the black cardstock with the letters on it, this is a piece of brand new Core'dinations Core Impressions, the letters are embossed in it.
For this card I only used one butterfly stamp for the front of the card. The green cardstock is new from Core'dinations and it is embossed with a design that only takes a bit of sanding. I used three green buttons for my side accents and large self adhesive pearls were added to the buttons.
The white piece is simply embossed with a Cuttlebug embossing folder. The butterfly is colored with Copic markers.
I used the sentiment to finish the inside of the card. The size of these sentiments easily fills the inside of the card.

Next I wanted to play along with Play Date Cafe color challenge and I used the Card Patterns sketch #58 for the layout of my card. The blues just got me and I knew they would work with one of the shells in the Antique Engravings set of Hero Arts stamps.
The shell was stamped with a white stamp pad and embossed with white embossing powder on blue cardstock and then I cut that out. I used a blue vellum and layered that over the blue patterned paper. The white piece is embossed with a Cuttlebug embossing folder.
The Card Patterns sketch has circle designs along the bottom of the card but I changed that a little bit and pleated the blue vellum into two strips and sewed them to the card where the circles would be.

And, a few photos from yesterday, Easter.
We had four grandkids running around our yard looking for plastic eggs, here is a cute photo of the youngest one.
Here is another. He was getting all kinds of help from the bigger kids since he wasn't all that sure what he was supposed to do!
And we celebrated his 2nd birthday while all of the family was together. He wanted to pick up this football cake instead of trying to eat it!! He sure knew what to do with those candles though.
Thanks for visiting, Linda (lbpost)
