We start a New Year once again

I think the thought of another new year comes with mixed feelings. Time is going too fast and what will the new year hold. There were good things and not so good things about this last year and it is time to let all of that go.
I don't make New Years resolutions because I am old enough to realize they are quickly forgotten but I have been stopping and thinking about how I want to approach this new year mentally and spiritually. Of course, I want it to be a fabulous year filled with goodness, but I also want to please God in my thoughts and actions.
We sang the following song this last Sunday in church and I realized as we were singing the words that this is where I want to be as the New Year approaches. I can feel overwhelmed at times with stuff and I want to be able to rest more in God's leading and His wisdom.
Here are the words of the first part of the song, God I Look to You

God I look to You, I won't be overwhelmed
Give me vision to see things like You do
God I look to You, You're where my help comes from
Give me wisdom; You know just what to do

I put the link to the YouTube of the song in case you are interested.

Of course, I also want to create more so sharing a couple cards on the first day of the year seems appropriate.

First up, I wanted to use the Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger, so here is my card for that.  I think my favorite part of the trigger is that great gingham bench so I stamped a Hero Arts background stamp in a soft blue for the background.
My other favorite part are the colors and the wonderful feel of the posts on the bed. I used my Cricut to cut this piece that made me think of the bed posts. I also wanted to mix creams with whites like in the Trigger.
Here is the Tuesday Trigger.

Next up, I wanted to break out some new stamps I just received from Paper Smooches so I went along with the Sparks challenge, Anything Goes.

The trees were stamped on patterned paper and the lacey edges are a paper border punch.
Here is the Paper Smooches Sparks challenge.
Thanks for visiting, Linda (lbpost)

  4. That song led me to tears in church a number of Sundays ago. Just the act of releasing things to God while in worship. Great song!
