Celebrations

This post covers a few different kinds of celebrations, this first one being Christmas or Winter.  It has to also do with the Flower Soft Splitcoast challenge(FSC10) for this week and that is to create something having to do with Kids stuff.  I used one of the brand new Charlie's Ark toppers for my card.
I used this piece of Graphic 45 patterned paper to go with the soft and subtle colors in the Charlie's Ark toppers.  The two prints are actually the two sides of the one piece of paper.
To accent the snow on the ground in this cute image, I used some Polar Ice and also some of the BRAND NEW silver Flower Soft.  I thought the combination of these two colors looked like the sparkle that comes when you look at a field of snow. Remember it works best to use Aleene's Tacky Glue with the Flower Soft.
These particular toppers are all shades of sepia and come printed and colored.  I decided to add some very subtle color to this with very light shades of Copic markers.  I really like how that kept the soft colors of the topper yet added a little bit of interest.
I wanted to be sure to point out the cardstock for the card base.  It is a piece of Core Impressions Core'dinations cardstock from the NEW Graphic 45 collection.
This card is my Card Positioning Systems card for this week.  The papers and die cuts are all by My Mind's Eye.  This is really an older set by MME but I loved how using these die cuts helped make my card fit the sketch.
The sketch really used circles but when you use a sketch, you can interpret it anyway you want so I used these shapes.  The word "celebrate" was added to the little ticket, it is a rub-on by Making Memories.
And, I also wanted to share a little bit of our Halloween celebration here at our house. We went to the party at our church and this little dinosaur had a really great time once he got over how overwhelming it was with all of the people and the noise!

Bits of This and That

Can you tell where I went recently???
Yep, the beach.
Pismo Beach to be exact. I live in a city that is on the beach but sometimes a get-away is great and my first choice is still somewhere where I can walk on the beach.

It was a really low tide and so getting some pics of the expanse of the sand and waves was so cool and there were a few shells but mostly broken sand dollars.

You can see where I was at sunset! I love to try to get photos of the sunset although it is pretty hard to get them to work out. I had fun playing with different settings to see what would work the best.

And, thought I should share a photo of my 11 year old granddaughter playing with her little brother. He is 5 months old now and pretty much thinks that she is just plain neat!
