CPS and Mojo Monday

If you are familiar with some of the sketch blogs on the internet, you might know about Card Positioning Systems blog and the Mojo Monday blog. I wanted to show off my cards for those two sketches for this week.
For CPS, we have a sponsor free week for this week and so that means the team was able to pull out supplies from their own stashes to create their cards. Having sponsors and showing of their particular products is so much fun and always an adventure but it is also a joy to have a week to use products from our own supply. Notice the white, pearl looking dots that accent the strips of the patterned paper. I used Metallic 3-D Fashion paint by Tulip for those dots. It is an easy way to give an accent that has a "pearl" look.
I have some great Melissa Frances papers that have sat for too long, so one of those prints came out this week. I paired that with this great White Wash cardstock from Core'dinations. I just love the appearance of white on the front of the cardstock and then trying to expose the colored core. I did that here by embossing the circle piece with a Cuttlebug embossing plate and then sanding that. Isn't it fun how that blue core shows through? The smaller circle is a left over piece of that embossed paper, I just turned it over to use the blue side. The glitter flower is also Melissa Frances as is that great rub-on greeting.

I also just had to play with the Mojo Monday sketch. Can you tell what papers I just bought!!!? I placed an order with Emma's Paperie and in her usual style, Cindy had those to me so quickly. This is actually one piece of paper, I just used both sides. The greeting stamp and the butterfly are both Verve stamps.
Take a second look at that golden yellow, honeycomb looking piece. I used a Fiskars texture plate and ran that through my Cuttlebug machine with a piece of Core'dinations cardstock. Because of the core in the paper, I could then sand that pattern and the design showed up better when the core was exposed. I stamped the butterfly with red ink and embossed it with clear embossing powder and then accented the design just a bit with a Copic marker and the blender marker.
Thanks for visiting, Linda (lbpost)

  19. Beautiful card Linda! I'll surely try it very soon. My sister loves stamping and am planning to gift her a personalized stamp on her birthday. Recently, one of my friends suggested Acorn Sales (http://www.acornsales.com/) to me. I was really impressed by their huge collection of stamps and placed my order with them. My sister loved her birthday gift. Thank you Acorn Sales.
