Father's Day cards

Since Father's Day is just around the corner, I thought I would show off a couple cards I created with a masculine/Dad theme to them.
I have a couple brand new stamps from Cornish Heritage Farms and while they have an astronomy theme to them, how could they fit any better for the guy in your life? I used a Stamp Block to create my background piece. The paper that I stamped it on is by BasicGrey and it is a mix of blues and greens. It was just subtle enough so that when I stamped on it, the design showed up really well.
Notice a couple Core'dinations techniques on this card. I used a piece of cardstock from The Chocolate Box collection. That means it is a shade of brown on the top side and this one is a yellow color on the bottom side. When I tore this piece of cardstock, the yellow core was exposed. The card base is a piece from the Vintage collection. It almost looks like it was sanded and then I did sand the edges of the entire card to show off the core.
I used a couple patterns from BasicGrey for this card.
I used a lettering template to cut out two of each of the letters for DAD and then I tore across the middle of one of each of the letters so that the core of this Black Magic cardstock was exposed. I also sanded the letters and sanded the entire outside edge of the brown colored card.
Thanks for visiting, Linda (lbpost)

  1. These are both adorable! Love the map work on the first one.

  2. um...yeah...i think i'm going to need one of those!

  3. Thanks for the ideas. I do struggle sometimes making masculine cards. I recently bought some leaf stamps, which work quite well for a man, but I really like the astronomy or map idea.

  4. Wonderful cards Linda! I ♥adore♥ the first one, my anniversary is coming up and something like this would be perfect!

  6. This is gorgeous, and my dad would love it! He's not much into hunting and fishing, so this is perfect!!
