Christmas in July ideas

Seems like everywhere I turn, I am hearing the words, "Christmas in July". Today the news was talking about stores that were having some good deals for early shopping with the thought of "Christmas in July". Unscripted Sketches has been making a feature of this subject all month long with ideas, games, recipes and of course, the sketches.
Tomorrow, the 21st, is my day to be featured at the Unscripted Sketches blog and so I wanted to share a couple easy ideas with you.
Maybe it's because I am a chocoholic but I think that a little gift of candy is a great idea. Something you can hand to the neighbors or co-workers. Maybe a party favor for the many holiday parties that take place. This first one is super simple and it is also a way to recycle. I used a little plastic tub that holds baby food. At one time, we were going through many of these and I knew they would be good for something. SOOOO... I filled one with Christmas colored M&M's and made a very simple decoration for the top. My little decoration is a snowman stamp by Cornish Heritage Farms. This was finished with a big bow.
For this one, I folded a piece of cardstock so that it wrapped a little bag of candy. The design on the front is actually a digital stamp. I printed it out on colored cardstock and made a paper piecing out of it so the tree has layers that are embossed with a Cuttlebug embossing folder. Core'dinations cardstock makes it easy to make this pretty cute. This one also fits the Little Red Wagon challenge #37 to use a tree on a project.
Here is a side view so you can see the bag of candy tucked inside. These truffles came in a little bag so it was all ready to go.
Thanks for visiting here and at Unscripted sketches, Linda (lbpost)

I just love your ideas here. I love to recycle, so love your reclaimed baby food container. That snowman stamp is just too cute and I adore the big bow. And your embossed tree is fabulous, too. Great idea to use some paper to wrap an existing packaging. Thanks for sharing these little cuties!
