CPS #141 and more photos

I think that each week, the sketch for that week at CPS is my new most favorite. This week is no exception. I just loved how this sketch allowed me to create a rather simple card which grew into a set of rather simple cards.
I love to use photos that I have taken on cards and other projects. In fact, while I am taking photos, I will take ones that would be just for this purpose. I knew I wanted to create a set of cards and so I wanted to keep several of the elements the same. I just picked up this neat patterned paper by The Shabby Green Door and it just seemed like the right piece to tie all of my cards together.
I took this photo at Mt Ashland, OR last January. I matted each of the tiny photos on black cardstock so that the photos stood out on the card and so that element was the same on each card. I also found a set of black, flourish stickers at Michael's that I knew would be a great accent and that would also be another element that tied the cards in the set together although the flourishes are slightly different.
Here are my finished cards. I wanted four for my set so I used white cardstock for the base on two of them and black cardstock as the base on the other two. The black is actually from the Black Magic collection at Core'dinations and what makes that a great choice is the inside of the card is white so that it is easy to write a message on the inside. I used the theme of "seasons" for my set so there is a photo for spring, summer, winter and fall.

And a couple more photos to share from our recent trip to Oregon.
Our first day in Florence, OR was foggy and as we stopped in the adorable downtown area by the river, I just loved the look of the boats at the docks with the fog behind them.
There is a very old and very ornate bridge over the river at Florence, OR. You can walk under the bridge at one point and this is the view from under the bridge. Isn't it the neatest piece of "artwork"?
Thanks for visiting, Linda (lbpost)
