Double the fun in one hop! The Flower Soft team is using some stamps from The (Stamps) of Life along with Flower Soft to share some goodness with you today. Be sure to hop to each blog and leave a comment.
There will be 6 prize winners chosen from the blog comments. That is 3 prizes from The (Stamps) of Life and 3 from Flower Soft. The hop starts at the Flower Soft blog and ends at Stephanies blog. The winners will be announced on July 14th on both the Flower Soft blog and The (Stamps) of Life blog.
I have a weakness for snow globes, so that is the set that I picked to work with. One thing that really made this snow globe set fun is that you can stamp the snow globe separately and fill it with various images, including the snowman if you want. I love how versatile the set is for that reason.
Of course I wanted to use the Polar White Flower Soft for my snow on the ground and on my little snowman but I chose to not completely cover the snowman. I wanted the Flower Soft to look like fresh snow that has just fallen on the one side of my little guy. That let the images like the buttons still show up well and it really lets you see the depth of the snow.
I stamped the globe, the snowman and the little snowflakes on white cardstock with a black Versafine stamp pad and embossed that image with clear embossing powder. Then I stamped the snowman again on a piece of scrap, copier paper and cut out the snowman to make a mask. I placed this cut out snowman over the one that I first stamped and sprayed the entire piece with the new Chalk type of Glimmer Mist by Tattered Angels. The blue spray filled my globe and the background behind it but left the snowman white.
I then coated portions of my snowman and the ground underneath him with the Tacky Glue and sprinkled all of that with the Polar White Flower Soft. When that was dry, I did the same on the brim of the hat with the Ultra Fine black Flower Soft.
