First of all, I was able to attend a stamp convention this last weekend. Three times a year, there is a stamp convention in Carson, CA and I am always happy when I get to go. It is nothing like it used to be in the "good ole' days" but it is still fun, educational and Tim Holtz was even there doing what seemed like non-stop demos.
So, I said all of that to say that one of my favorite booths to stop at to see what is new and to look at their examples is Printworks. I always LOVE their example boards, they use such clever accents. Among new-to-me stamps was an adorable truck and a Volkswagon car. I was trying to be very cautious of what I picked out to buy, but I thought I could see several ideas of how to use the truck.
So, on the way home, I could envision a red truck for our oldest daughters birthday card and here is the result! I sprayed my stamped truck with a red Chalk Glimmer Mist which really sprays pink so you can see the pink edges. I thought that would add shading to my red coloring with Copic markers but I really ended up coloring the entire image with the red anyway.
I just cut a slit in the back of the truck in order to tuck in the money gift. I just made sure that I didn't put glue in that area. The bumper and lights are coated with Aleene's Paper Glaze after I colored them. I thought that that glaze would add a real look to it. Moxie Fab having a week featuring Card Styles and one of the challenges is to create a CUTE and FUN card so I thought this fit very well.

And here are a couple photos of our beach trip recently. It was a gray, cool day but you can tell it was a fun adventure anyway. You would never know by looking at these pics that at first he was afraid and clingy!
