It's all fun!!

I mean stamping and creating! LOVE to make cards.
I went to the CAS(e) this sketch for my card and I need to add a disclaimer here. After I created my card using the sketch, I took a closer look and realized one of the DT members used one of these same stamps to create the look only she did turn the sketch.  I just didn't want anyone to think I couldn't think of anything else but to copy her!!!!
I had just received this stamp set from Hero Arts in the mail so of course they needed to be used and this brush stroke stamp was the perfect fit to the sketch.  I loved using the bright colors that really looked like watercolors.  The other accents for the card are also Hero Arts stamps.
Here is that CAS(e) this sketch.
Plus, I also wanted to use the retro sketch.  Another disclaimer! I don't usually go with the obvious when using a sketch but I love hot air balloons and I had this cool one on a Cricut cartridge!
I stamped the dictionary background stamp from Hero Arts with white ink and embossed it with white and then sprayed color over that.  Everything else is cut with the Cricut.
Here is the retro sketch.

Avery Elle goodness

I found another challenge to play along with!!!
Avery Elle is one of my new most favorite stamp companies so when I saw that they had an inspiration piece challenge for July, I knew I wanted to give it a try.  The winner gets to be a guest designer and I would sooooo want to do that!
I have a set of their stamps that includes this arrow.  I just masked the end of the arrow so I could add this really neat, feather looking end.  It was fun to create it around the soft colors in the photo.
Here is the inspiration piece for the Avery Elle challenge for July.  This also fits the Moxie Fab Trendy Triangle challenge.

It is about color

Yum, I just had to play along with the Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger. The colors are so crisp and clear and just said "play with me"!
I tried to think of what I had that might give me that same crisp and clear look and so I turned to my Distress Stains.  Because the top of the bottle is a circle, I just pressed each color directly to the paper.  What is fun is that I actually did quite a bit of playing with different looks and decided on this one for my card.
I love the way the colors slightly ran together and also ended up with a watercolor kind of look.
Here is the Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger inspiration photo.
And, this card uses the Colour Q combo for this week.  I pulled out a set of stamps from Avery Elle.  It was easy to use this neat design element along with the colors.
Rhinestone middles to the design element created a nice finishing touch.
Here is the Colour Q combo.

A stamp here - A stamp there

Yes, I sooooo love stamps!
This adorable set from Lawn Fawn just arrived in my mailbox this week and they just seemed like the perfect fit for the Dynamic Duos color combination.
I knew the little lanterns would be perfect in this Coral color but I needed a backdrop.  I turned to a stencil from Pink Paislee and some great black, Stephanie Barnard spray ink from Clearsnap.  This is actually the negative of the stencil.  I sprayed the black on the stencil on white cardstock and then I never want to waste the ink so I turned it over and placed it on another piece of white cardstock. I love this reverse side the best for this card.  The little extra lines on the lanterns was done with Copic markers and I added some black Liquid Pearls.
Here is the Dynamic Duos combo.
This card uses the retro sketch for this week.
I pulled out several Hero Arts stamps to create the card.  The little house is colored by applying Distress Stain directly to the little image.

Sunbursts and Balloons

I can't remember when I had more fun creating a card!!!!
I wanted to use the CAS(e) this Sketch for the inspiration for my card.  I picked up my sunburst stamp from Hero Arts and all I did was to use my new Mustard Seed Distress Paint.  I love how the paint looks when stamped, there is a little bit of dimension to the image.
I stamped that image five times to go along with the sketch and then used some tiny little Recollections buttons to the middles of that image.  The die cut word "thanks" is from Paper Smooches.
Here is the CAS(e) this Sketch.
And I also wanted to create this fun card.  I used a really cute digital image from A Day for Daisies.  After I sized it and printed it out, I colored it with Copic markers.   That die cut word is from Paper Smooches.
I coated each balloon with Glossy Accents and the sprinkled on some fine glitter.  The glitter almost looks funny in this photo, but it looks pretty cool in real life. This goes along with the Addicted to CAS glitter challenge.

Those cantalope colored flowers

I just picked up a couple new stamps when I visited a recent stamp convention and so I put them to use with The Play Date Café color combination.
I so love getting to go to the stamp convention and one booth I did some shopping in was a new company to me, Fun Stampers Journey.
The dot background stamp and this adorable little group of flowers are from them, the sentiment is from Paper Smooches.
Here is The Play Date Café combo that was so fun to use.

Two little fishes

I so enjoy using adorable digital stamps or images.  A Day for Daisies is such a fun place to find some really cute images to use on cards.
I picked out this one so I could create a card to go along with the Addicted to CAS challenge of Water and the CAS-ology challenge for Cool.  Along with those two challenges, I colored the image to go along with the Colour Q combo.
I really like that with digital images, I can print them out in the size I want for my particular project.  After I colored this one, I masked the two fish so I could spritz on some blue spray for the water.  The gorgeous die in the background is a brand new die I just picked up from Cherry Lynn Designs.
Here is the Colour Q combo.

Flowers and Coffee Cups

I have some new supplies and it is so fun to pull them out and give them a try so I used the CAS(e) this Sketch for my inspiration.
I just got this really cool Spellbinders Nestabilities set in the mail and that amazing "thanks" die along with the flower stamp.  I just knew that flower shaped die would fit the sketch so perfectly.
The banner die and the "thanks" die are both from Paper Smooches.  I love this set of banner dies so much that I cut several banners out of white cardstock so they would be right at my finger tips whenever I think they will fit on a project!! I colored the flowers with Copic markers and sprayed the entire piece with yellow Stephanie Barnard Spray inks by Clearsnap after doing the coloring.
Here is the CAS(e) this sketch.
My second card uses all kinds of Paper Smooches stamps.  I love coffee related stamps so I think this set is so much fun.  I am submitting this to the Paper Smooches Guest designer search.
The dot border stamp is also from Paper Smooches. I love the look of the white dots. After stamping it and embossing it with white embossing powder, I sprayed a few different colors of Stephanie Barnard Spray inks over them.  The embossing acted as a resist and the spray colors show off the white so nicely.  I stamped the coffee cup three times in three different colors of ink on watercolor paper and then used a watercolor brush on the images.  The use of the water gave the inks a watercolor look.  This also fits the CAS-UAL Fridays challenge of Polka Dots.

It is birthday time

I love making cards but for some reason I seem to seldom use the theme of birthdays.
Moxie Fab is featuring a new Birthday issue all of this week so they have issued a few challenges. I love challenges so I knew I needed to create something.  I used the challenge that uses a sketch.
I love my stamps from Avery Elle and the matching dies are so perfect with them.  I could see this flower stamped in black so that was the starting point for my card.  The other part of the challenge is to use all stamps or no stamps so I went with the all stamping part.  To keep with that, I decorated my cut hexagons with the tweed background stamp from Hero Arts.  Stamping it in black was the perfect choice.  The banner die is from Paper Smooches and that sentiment is also from Avery Elle.
Here is the Moxie Fab sketch.
And for more birthday fun, I wanted to use the retro sketch and so I went with some supplies from October Afternoon.  The vintage card is from a package of embellishments.  The sketch was my inspiration for this card although it was followed rather loosely.  This fits the Moxie Fab challenge to create a birthday card.
The word "birthday" is a die from PaperTrey, Inc.  I thought it was fun to add that to the vintage card.
Here is the retro sketch.

I so love creating!

More fun stuff!!!
I pulled out some great My Favorite Things supplies for my card using The Play Date CafĂ© color combo.  The chevron strips are a die from them and I so love these little girls especially this one holding the bouquet of daisies.
Nevermind that my daisies ended up blue and rust red to go with the combo!!!
Here is The Play Date CafĂ© combo.
My inspiration for this card is the CAS(e) this sketch for this week. What better way to use this particular sketch then with paint splatters and this Paper Smooches stamp set is just right for that.
I used Paper Smooches paint splatter stamps and I added more dots and color by taking the container of spray ink and taking the little straw on the inside out and flecking ink on the card. I also sprayed some color too. LOVE my Stephanie Barnard Spray inks by Clearsnap.
Here is the CAS(e) this sketch.
