Southern California Winter and more Glimmer Mist

The Weather Outside is Frightfull - NOT!!!!
Our family took a trip to San Diego last week and this is one of the sights we saw! Thought that some of you who are suffering with LOTS of cold and snow would appreciate this. We have had some rain and we have had some cold but I know it doesn't compare to what so many of you are experiencing.
The above card is one of the projects I created for Glimmer Mist for my December Guest spot. I wanted to give you some idea of how it was created and show a close-up of the details.
I stamped the Design Block Leaf background by Hero Arts on plain white cardstock with white ink and embossed it with white embossing powder. The reason I did that was because I knew the embossing would act as a resist when I sprayed this wonderful, Sapphire blue, Glimmer Mist over it. I sprayed the Glimmer Mist until my paper was completely covered, but the spraying was done in short little bursts. I let it sit for a couple minutes and then blotted the spray off of the embossed areas. I love how the leaves have a crackle look and you would have to see this in real life to see the amazing "glimmer" that is over the card, a great metallic look.
My flower accent is really a snowflake die from Spellbinders, a Shapabilities, layered over a flower punch out. The snowflake part is also colored with the Glimmer Mist. Machine sewing and a button finish off the details. The cardstock for the card and the matting are wonderful, Stardream Metallic papers by Cut Card Stock.
Thanks for visiting, Linda (lbpost)
