It is IN the details

New scrapbook supplies just make me so happy - do you understand that moment when you walk in a store and take a deep breath of all of that goodness? January stands for MORE scrapping goodies with CHA and all of the zillions of new releases. What might be even better are all of the sneak peeks that we get to enjoy as this time approaches. No exception are the new releases by Queen & Co. Check out their blog for your own peek. I know that I am going to be a happy camper when I can get my hands on one of those adorable "theme" buckets!!!

Now, down to business, I want to share a card full of details!
I just love cardmaking because you have this little palette to work with and you can keep it very simple or fill it with fun accents.
My little accent piece is a punched, scallop circle that I have inked the edges of. I punched a smaller circle from the patterned paper, added it on top of the scallop circle and distressed the edges so that they turned up and then sewed circles of machine sewing in the middle. Three jewel flowers were added to the middle of this piece.
The bottom edge is punched with a border punch. This border punch embosses a design as it punches a design. What a great combo and this piece was then also inked. The inking shows off the embossed design a little and gives my edge an aged look. This was then finished off with a wide twill ribbon that was just tied in a knot.
Thanks for visiting, Linda (lbpost)
