The big red flower

Even though I am almost out of time, I really wanted to play along with the Colour Q challenge for this week. It has to be one of my most favorite color combos.  Part of the challenge was to use a newsprint look so I stamped a Stampers Anonymous ticket stamp and then cut that in a square with a My Favorite Things stitched die.  That was matted with a black MFT stitched square.  Because there are several sizes of squares in this die set, it is easy to do graduated sizes.
For the flower, I added two shades of Distress Stain to a piece of watercolor paper and then stamped a PaperTrey, Inc. flower over that colored piece.  It made for such a pretty flower and a real easy one too.  The leaves are from the same stamp set, I colored them with Copic markers.  The die cut word is from a set by Die-Versions.
Here is the Colour Q combo.

AAA Card Challenge - All About Orange

The AAA Cards challenge was a fun one this week - creating with orange.
I wanted a rather simple card for this challenge.  I started out by squishing two colors of Distress Stamp pad ink to a craft mat and then quickly drug my cardstock through it.  I love that this look is totally unpredictable.  I ended up with a swoosh this was and another one that way.
I added some inks to another piece of paper, this time watercolor paper and when that was dry, I cut out two feathers from it.  The feather die is from Poppy Stamps.  To add a little more interest, I gave the tips of one of the feathers a dip of gold embossing powder.  The sentiment is from Paper Smooches.
Be sure to play along with use this week at AAA Cards.

Sprays of Flowers

I wanted to use one of my new stamp sets so this is the card I created.
I have used this technique before but I have been seeing it used quite abit so I wanted to try it again.  I stamped the flowers with white ink and embossed them with white embossing powder on watercolor paper, then I added colors with Distress Stamp pads and Distress Stains until I liked the result.  I kept spritzing it with water as I added inks.  The stamps and the sentiment are both by Paper Smooches.
I just loved how the colors mixed and ran with the water.
This fits the photo inspiration challenge at Paper Smooches Spark

And the color combination fits with the Fusion challenge.

LOVE and red seem to go together

I am so loving creating cards that fit for Valentines Day and the biggest reason is because of the RED!!!
Todays card is no exception, lots of red.  I created a messy background with a stencil and some Distress Stain on watercolor paper.  I love how the Stains work with water and watercolor paper and I love the resulting messy look.
To keep with the Sunday Stamps sketch, I used a couple strips of Washi Tape on the side.  On top of that I added a little bow from Recollections. The die cut word, "love" is from PaperTrey, Inc.
Here is the Sunday Stamps challenge.
This also fits the Friday Mashup challenge.
And the Curtain Call challenge.

It is all about Orange today

I had so much fun using a whole bunch of orange for the card I want to share today.
I used some of my favorite flower stamps and that makes this fit the CAS on Sunday challenge.  A card for that challenge is supposed to be on the simple side and what is fun for me that I used a stencil and some Distress Stain for the background and that really is very quick and easy.  The stencil if some Prima.  I also sprayed it with a little bit of Heidi Swapp Color Shine in gold.
The flowers are from a three step stamp set from Altenew.  I stamped the outline with gold embossing and then stamped the other two layers with two shades of orange.  That sentiment is from Studio Calico. Probably the part that took the longest was cutting out the flowers.
Here is the CAS on Sunday flower challenge.

The MFT challenge

I have been a huge fan of My Favorite Things stamps for a really long time and so their new challenge blog is good news to me.
I wanted to make sure to play along with their newest sketch challenge. For some reason I am in the mood all of a sudden to create in yellow, so here is my "HAPPY" card.
This card shows off my newest MFT purchases and can I say how happy I am that I got this banner die set!  OHHHH it is fun. How can you go wrong with a ton of banner sizes that all stack on top of each other?  I also got the pegboard background die and I have to say that that is pretty fun too.  I also used two little doily does on my card. That little gold "make a wish" sticker is from Teresa Collins.
Here is the sketch I used.
This also goes with the Friday Mashup challenge although I ended up placing the banners a little different.

A new AAA Cards Challenge

So happy that it is time again for an AAA Cards challenge, the first for 2015.  And what better challenge then to create something with a heart.
Here is my card.  This was actually very quick and easy although it might look a little complicated.  I created a background with a Simon Says Stamp stencil and some Distress Stains.
Once that background was dry, I stamped this adorable Tim Holtz cupid with black ink.  Color was added with Copic markers and then I coated it with Glossy Accents.  The "love" die is from Lawn Fawn and I added a row of little red hearts.
Take a look, this is the adorable prize being offered at AAA Cards and some other good news if there is a Design Team member call.
I sure hope you can play along with us this week.
This also fits the Addicted to CAS challenge.
